National Grief - A Proposal for Action

No, it is not an aknown evil force that burns Greece. We (the Greeks) are not the innocent victims that some 'bad' guys decided for no reason to burn their country from its one end to the other. It is us and for decades with our attitude of 'de variesai' ('what can we do'), with our zero self-respect and our unbelievable conceitedness. We are disorientated from what is really important (e.g. to listen and line up with the voices coming from the firefighters who at least for some months now have been complaining for the shortage of manpower and equipment, to take seriously the power of our vote for which tonnes of blood have been shed) and we exhaust ourselves in playing games to each other, in applausing every incompetent who underestimates our common sense and in chasing our own tails. And this is how we become the abettors of this unbelievable crime (or suicide?)

In 16/9 we will overtly proove it when we will stand in front of the ballot-box once more. Then 'everything' will come: who ensconced or said that will ensonce our nephew who is not that good at school and what will happen to this child in life and other similar criteria. And, as easy as that, we will forget what is happening at this very moment, because on the bottom line, we live in our little apartment in Athens that we managed to buy by the sweat of our own brow (not to mention that we still owe money for that) and not to mention that the as***le on the opposite side of the road blocks our view...Thank God there are better shows on tv.

Before we sink into the couches of our apathy kai while this is still a 'burning' issue, let's do something: let's wear our black clothes and lets's go to the centre of the town we live in and let's spread the message:
NO, WE ARE NOT SLEEPING ANYMORE
WE ARE AWAKE AND WE ASK A SIMPLE QUESTION
WHY?
even if the answer includes us
even if the answer will not fondle our ears
